Suspended

If your license to drive is suspended should you be driving?

Apparently you can do just that if you work for BCSO. We have been informed that a deputy who was injured in a serious accident on Harbour Lake Drive a few days ago was driving with a suspended license. We are also told that deputy has now wiped out three patrol cars since January 2014. We checked the clerk of court database and found only one citation under his name from 2008 for failure to surrender suspended tags.

We also got word that a lieutenant at BCSO also has a suspended license for reasons unknown.

Question for SCHP - Will the Sheriff be cited for allowing an unauthorized driver. That would be Section 56-1-480. Oh, wait, the Sheriff is the ultimate law enforcement authority in his county. He can do whatever he wants.

Nothing like opening the county up to even more lawsuits, huh?

  1. Oh Lawdy!!!!!!!! Here comes another lawsuit! Damn right I’d have already been suing them to begin with but now he didn’t even have a license? So if he doesn’t get charged with DUS does this mean everyone who has ever been charged with DUS will get a reprieve? And reimbursement from the county for the fines they’ve paid? I just love how y’all pick up on shit like this! Did I say I <3 CTL? Oh yes I do!

  3. Three cars in less than a year? Wouldn’t you put him on foot patrol, or give him a horse or a bicycle after two? BSCO needs to get rid of Boss Hogg and come into the 21st century.

    • LOL - horse. LOL!

  5. Its been awhile, but im pretty sure car 1 cant be held accountable. Today was the first day of deer season so he wasn’t even there, and it takes several months of prep time to get ready. Add to that about clemson football getting ready to start, and you can’t really expect the poor fella to keep up with everything. But unless things have changed you can rest assure that you’re tax dollars aren’t being wasted, he’s driving that nice county vehicle to every game so that he can hurry back if anything happens.

    • This. Was. Awesome! Thanks for the laugh!
