Deveaux and Able
Derryl Alex Deveaux and Xavier Ziray Able have been charged with a Thursday afternoon robbery in Mt. Pleasant.
Deveaux was charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He has not had a bond hearing yet.
Note the hold for probation and parole. Deveaux was listed as absconded after failing to report to his probation officer.
Xavier Ziray Able was charged with Armed Robbery, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. No bond hearing as of yet.
Let’s start our records review with Able.
He was charged in 2006 in Charleston County with Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol and Possession of a Pistol by a Person Under 21. Able plead guilty to the first charge and was sentenced by Judge R. Markley Dennis to 4 days. The second charge was dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
Six days after making bond on the Charleston County charges in 2006, Able was arrested in Dorchester County on a charge of PWID Cocaine. Somehow he was plead guilty instead to Simple Possession of Marijuana. He was sentenced to time served by Judge Diane Goodstein.
.
Able was charged in 2007 in Berkeley County with Malicious Injury to Property $5000 or More. The 9th Circuit Solicitor reduced the charge to Malicious Damage Less Than $5,000. Judge Deadra Jefferson sentenced him to 2 years, suspended in favor of 2 years probation. The 9th Circuit Solicitor dismissed a charge of Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature because the case lacked merit due to mutual combat.
Now let’s dig into Deveaux’s history.
2006 Charges (Berkeley County):
PWID Cocaine - Plead guilty to Simple Possession of Marijuana. ?? Sentenced by Judge Daniel Pieper to time served.
PWID Near a School - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
2007 Charges (Dorchester County):
Possession of Cocaine - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge James Williams to 3 years, suspended in favor of 2 years probation.
2009 Charges (Berkeley County):
Hit and Run Property Damage - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge R. Markley Dennis to 90 days time served, even though the record shows Deveaux only spend 15 days in jail before making bond.
2010 Charges (Charleston County):
Attempted Murder - Reduced to Conspiracy After the Fact by the 9th Circuit Solicitor. Sentenced by Judge Thomas “Felon’s Friend” Hughston to 6 years, suspended after 4 years and 2 years probation.
Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
Deveaux also has three magistrate level offenses pending in Berkeley County. In November of 2014 he was charged with False Info to Police, Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Just a couple more serial offenders. Nothing to see here. Move along now.

What business did they rob in Mt P?
Useless pieces of trash.
