More Gunfire

 

We have two more instances of gunfire to talk about, one resulting in a death.

The latest lead to fly was in the Liberty Hill neighborhood of North Charleston. Donald Tyree Brown, aka “Reeky Rackz“, was found in a vehicle at Nesbitt and Lester streets suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Brown later died from his wound. No word yet on any possible motive for the murder.

 

 

 

 

 

Despite some questionable content posted on his page, Brown doesn’t seem to be like the typical thugs who get gunned down in the Lowcountry. He has only one prior adult arrest we could find, a 2008 charge of failure to stop for blue lights and receiving stolen goods in Georgetown County. He plead guilty and was sentenced to a YOA term not to exceed three years on the failure to stop. The charge of receiving stolen goods was dismissed.

Even the known thugs posting RIP messages acknowledge that Brown was making an effort to leave the street life behind. He had a job and was taking care of his kids. Of course, we don’t know Brown so we can’t say for sure. We are just telling you what is being said.

 

There was also a shooting last week on Margaret Drive in Ladson. Shantwan Jamal Hoard was shot in that incident. He survived.

 

 

 

 

Hoard was charged in 2007 with two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Possession of a Firearm During a Violent Crime. The 9th Circuit Solicitor dismissed all three charges.

 

 

 

 

In 2012 Hoard charged Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He plead guilty and was sentenced by Judge Roger Young to 40 days. Interesting. We thought a paraphernalia charge was just a civil fine now. It does appear the original charge is missing from the record.

 

 

 

 

Oh, wait a second. Here is the original charge of Possession of Crack Cocaine found by checking the bond hearing record. Just another wonderful plea deal from the 9th Circuit Solicitor.

 

 

 

 

Word on the street is that Hoard may have been blasted by some CTL alumni. We will keep that info under wraps for now and see how things shake out.
