Exposing the criminal element for 3 years

Ballsy

The local media is rather bold and ballsy. You would think now that there was a site to fact check the local media and call them out on their misrepresentations they would tend to set their agendas aside and engage in some honest reporting. We only get a million or two visits every month or so, though. Apparently facts don’t matter much.

Take the latest article by Andrew Knapp of the Propaganda & Criminals regarding the NAACP demanding the DOJ look into the fact that police dare to interact with black folks. Knapp spent the first paragraphs of his police hit piece using words like “officer involved shootings”, “Curnell death”, and “Curnell died last month in a confrontation with a Charleston police officer”. That is just in the headline and first four paragraphs. Knapp doesn’t mention that Curnell actually committed suicide until the fifth paragraph.

Knapp also included this little gem:

For years, civil-rights activists have talked about requesting federal investigations into officer-involved shootings targeting black men in the Lowcountry. Charleston branch President Dot Scott said last year that it
was “badge of honor” for law officers here to kill them.

Knapp just can’t be honest about much of anything. What Dot Scott of the NAACP actually said was, “That’s the mindset of some of these officers. It’s a badge of honor to kill a nigger.” Let’s not forget, the Propaganda & Criminals initially reported that statement in their web version of that report, but it was quickly and quietly removed. The other “news” sources simply didn’t report it all. When we reported it and called them out for changing their story they rewrote the piece as if they hadn’t tried to hide it at all. Then they had Brian Hicks write a piece on that “simple inflammatory statement” supporting Dot Scott and wondering why her statement hadn’t drawn national attention for her cause. At that time her cause was the alleged racial profiling and shooting of a black man who was high on crack, armed with a large knife, threatening to kill family members, himself and police, who charged officers while armed with said knife injuring one, before he was stopped with the appropriate injection of copper jacketed sweetness. But, you know, the actions of the homicidal/suicidal idiot had nothing to do with anything. He was racially profiled.

The folks at WCIV (Channel 4) used the term “the shooting of 19 year old Denzell Curnell”. They tell you later that Curnell killed himself, but we all know the uninformed “news” consumers only remember what they read in headlines and the first paragraph or two.

The Propaganda and Criminals used a photo of Tereze Legare holding a sign at the podium that said, “Suicide or Homicide? Only the 3-5 minute missing video knows.” The word “missing” was underlined on the sign. No one bothered to mention the video was not “missing”. You would think a reporter with a master’s degree in journalism would be able to differentiate between “missing” and “was never there” and would point that out. Well, if he was actually an honest reporter, anyway.

Tereze seems to be out there in the community trying to do some good things. We have to question his tactics when it comes to converting the cops to his side, though.

You have to laugh at the manner in which photo and video are taken at these NAACP functions to imply the room is packed to capacity. Actually, the reporters tend to outnumber the “enraged”.

The mentally challenged Dot “killing a nigger is a badge of honor” Scott said, “All we are asking for now is the facts.” Note that Dot has admitted she hasn’t bothered to read the 300 page SLED investigation report which contains quite a few of those pesky little things known as “facts” she claims to be searching for.  “This case is what folks would probably call a smoking gun,” Scott said. No, Dot, if you would bother to read the report you would find the only smoking gun was in the hand of Denzell Curnell.

An attendee at the meeting, Ramon Caraballo, claims he had to put veterans plates on his car so he wouldn’t get pulled over. Of course, his interactions with police probably have nothing to do with the drug charges he’s accrued. You folks might remember Ramon as one of the nine “Occupy” protestors arrested by CPD. Unfortunately, Democrat Mayor Joe Riley decided to help his homies out and had all those charges disappeared.

Ramon might want to take care of that “failure to comply” regarding his conviction on a hunting/fishing violation before he has another interaction with police when they “racially profile” him to serve the bench warrant.

And then there are the usual unsubstantiated comments and complaints about “racial profiling” which enraged the “victims” so much they didn’t even bother to go down to the appropriate police department and file a formal complaint about it. Probably because they noticed that little video camera on the dash of the patrol car. Knapp has no problem printing Percell Ross’ ridiculous statement, though. “But you might get shot if you speak out.” That certainly is some responsible journalism there, Andrew. They must pass out masters degrees in journalism for simply showing up.

Andrew Knapp did attempt to further the NAACP propaganda and excuse the the shooting of Officer Cory Goldstein by Mark Lorenzo Blake, Jr. in March of 2013. Once again, we see the stance of the NAACP and the Propaganda & Criminals that police officers should never, under any circumstances, approach or speak to anyone with dark skin. It simply should not be allowed. They claim the shooting of Officer Goldstein was the result of racial profiling because Blake’s car had dark tinted windows and out of state plates. Seriously. They fail to address how Officer Goldstein might have known Blake was a black guy behind those dark tinted windows prior to the traffic stop Blake fled from.

But, hey, at least the National Association Advocating for Criminal People will make a few bucks off of the meeting the other night. They got an old white liberal to join up!

  1. I dropped my subscription to that poor excuse for a newspaper several years ago. The paper continues to decrease in quantity and quality. I have no problem with good journalism, even if I don’t agree with the slant, but the hero worship of the East Side Gardeners (not one but two articles) was the final straw for me. Their persistent efforts to feed the ignorance around Curnell’s suicide are a new low, even for the Post and Courier.

  3. They keep using the same photo of Curnell in his Army fatigues but fail to mention that he was discharged and had been on suicide watch. And even though Curnell tragically shot himself, there was a police officer present, so the paper might as well spin it as “military officer killed during police shooting”… The whole thing is sickening what the NAACP is doing and what the P&C is doing. Just let the poor kid rest and stop making yourselves look like the fools we all know you are.

    • So you have a little marijuana charge and a dnr ticket…. yup sure is a thug. Way to go.

  5. When is the black community in Charleston finally going to kick out these thug enablers like Dot Scott? Does anyone actually want their neighborhood to not resemble a war zone? You’ve got gun fire every night, and you DON’T want the police around? What a topsy-turvy world the south is!

    • You’re correct, Allison. However, this is not a southern problem. This is a problem all over America. There’s plenty of “topsy-turvy” in every area of the country.

    • Not just the South. LA, Chicago…”urban crime” is nationwide.

  7. The most crime-filled neighborhoods in Charleston are majority black. Most (certainly not all, of course) violent crimes in the Charleston area are committed by blacks. These two statements are undeniable facts.

We want our police to A) prevent crimes and B) apprehend criminals after crimes have been committed. See above. Therefore, our police will of course end up interacting with a lot of black people. They are profiling crime, not blacks.

BTW - I am white and was once “stopped and frisked” by a white cop. On the Isle of Palms! I was not illegally carrying a firearm or anything else. I was polite and, while I thought the whole thing was silly and didn’t like it, I was back on my way in five minutes, drama-free.

    • EXACTLY. If you don’t have anything to hide and are not doing anything illegal, you’ll have no problems with LE.
