Officer Down - Questions
We are hearing rumors and rumbles that a suspect may be in custody in the shooting of BCSO Lieutenant Will Rogers. Something was said about that on police radio and a citizen has reported that to us, as well as the fact that personnel are being released from the extensive perimeter that has been in place all night long.
Nothing in this case makes sense yet. If this suspect was hiding behind the store waiting to carjack someone or rob the store, why shoot at the deputy and take a chance on getting caught or shot? Why not just hide behind the store until the deputy left? To us, this sounds like more of a cold-blooded attempted execution of a law enforcement officer.
We have a feeling there is much more to this story.
Update: We are now told the suspect in custody in Georgetown has been determined to have not been involved in this shooting.
