Done In by the Double Helix
Update: Jarrod Green is in custody as of 11 a.m. Monday, 2 February.
Two serial offenders were done in by the double helix. DNA was left by James Hilliard and Jarrod Green at the scene of a Christmas Day burglary on Locksley Drive.
James Hilliard, aka “Dav King“, was served with a warrant for 1st Degree Burglary on 29 January. He was given a total bond of $50,000 and released on 31 January.
Hilliard, a repeat offender, was given that bond in spite of the fact he was recently released from prison and is on probation. Don’t expect a charge of violation of probation to be filed, however.
Let’s see what Hilliard’s criminal history looks like.
2004 Charges (Charleston County):
Defrauding the SC Lottery - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge Thomas “Felon’s Friend” Hughston 292 days time served.
An examination of the record shows Hilliard was not sentenced until 2006 and, in fact, only served about a month on these charges before making bond. The 292 days the Felon’s Friend gave Hilliard credit for was time in jail for other offenses he committed while out on bond on this charge.
2004 Charges (Dorchester County):
2nd Degree Burglary - Reduced to a charge of Malicious Damage (vandalism) by the 1st Circuit Solicitor.
2005 Charges (Dorchester County):
Three (3) counts of 2nd Degree Burglary - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge James Williams to a YOA term of 6 years on each charge. Concurrent, of course.
2006 Charges (Charleston County):

Assault & Battery With Intent to Kill - Reduced to Assault & Battery High & Aggravated Nature by the 9th Circuit Solicitor. Sentenced to 5 years, suspended after 3 years in prison. Concurrent, of course.
2009 Charges (Dorchester County):
1st Degree Burglary - Reduced to 2nd Degree Burglary by the 1st Circuit Solicitor. Sentenced by Judge Diane Goodstein to 10 years, suspended on 5 years and 3 years probation, to be served concurrent with the revocation of the previous YOA sentence.
CPD has an arrest warrant pending for Jarrod Green. His mugshot and some other photos are shown below to help you spot him.
Green is also a serial offender.
2003 Charges (Dorchester County):
Failure to Stop for Blue Light - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge Alexander Macaulay to 3 years, suspended on 55 days and 3 years probation.

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
Possession of a Pistol Under 21 YOA - Plead guilty. Sentenced to 6 months.
2007 Charges (Charleston County):
Pointing & Presenting a Firearm - Dismissed at preliminary hearing because the victim didn’t show up.
Possession of a Stolen Vehicle - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
Assault & Battery With Intent to Kill - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
Assault & Battery With Intent to Kill - Plead guilty. Sentenced by Judge Roger Young to 20 years, suspended after serving 5 years and 5 years probation.
Assault & Battery With Intent to Kill - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.
According to the records, Green should still be on probation, but he isn’t listed when we searched the SCDPPS or VineLink sites. Apparently no one bothered to notice he was supposed to be on probation for five years when he left prison.
Typical. Our prosecutors, judges and state agencies drop the ball and the rest of have to pay for it.
Green’s gun charges bring the tally to:
37 charges 14 dismissed 7 guilty pleas 16 pending
