Exposing the criminal element for 3 years

Mark Swinton

We got word earlier today that problem prisoner Mark Laverd Swinton, aka Psycho, assaulted a detention officer at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center yesterday.

Swinton has been in jail on seven pending counts of weapons and attempted murder charges since February of 2013. He was the ringleader in the shooting at a hotel on Northwoods Boulevard. You can read his pre-February 2013 criminal history at that link. Since he has been in jail Swinton has proven to be a problem prisoner. In spite of all of the charges pending, and all of the charges accrued since Swinton was jailed, Judge James “Rainbows and Unicorns” Gosnell has reduced a couple of Swinton’s bonds in an effort to put him back on the street where he would be a problem for the rest of us. In spite of the efforts by Rainbows and Unicorns, Swinton still has a total bond of $362, 130.00.

Swinton is also an elder member and mentor for the Young Gunnas street gang we have covered quite frequently.

Swinton was only charged with 3rd Degree Assault & Battery as a result of the assault on Tuesday. His bond on that will probably add $2,130 to the total bond.

Let’s see what else Swinton has been up to since he got locked up in February 2013.

In May of 2013 he was charged with Throwing Bodily Fluids on a detention officer. Judge Rainbows and Unicorns lowered the bond on that charge to just $10,000 less than a month later. That charge is still pending.

On 16 May, 2014 Swinton was charged with Malicious Damage to Property. He was found guilty and sentenced to 30 days by Judge Joanna Summery. Just another 30 days some future sentencing judge will count as time served on a bunch of other charges.

On 30 May, 2014 Swinton was charged with Throwing Bodily Fluids on a detention officer. His bond was set at $10,000 by Judge Bligen. That charge is still pending.

On 16 August, 2014 Swinton was charged with Throwing Bodily Fluids on a detention officer and Assault & Battery 3rd Degree. Total bond was set at $42,130. Charges are still pending.

You folks make sure to let Judge James “Rainbows and Unicorns” Gosnell and the legislators who keep him on the bench know what a great job he is doing in his efforts to release serial offenders from jail.

Looks like that ten million dollar bond was just a fluke, after all.

  1. 5’7″??? 135??? I’d beat this little POS senseless.

    • He has to make up for his small size by being a big man and throwing his bodily fluids. Seriosly, what kind of animal throws his own bodily fluids. Guess he’s just another piece of shit throwing a piece of shit… And we wonder why they can’t fill the open prison guard positions. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to work in that environment.
